We have successfully commissioned a composite press with plate dimensions exceeding 3 500 x 3 500 mm. To achieve the necessary precision of the system along with its various options, a robust welded construction of the press frames was essential. Accordingly, it was only possible to design these components in the development phase as a complete, 1-part construction.
With this approach it was impossible to bring the press into the assembly hall via the normal access routes. In order to also test the function and precision of the new processes before shipment, it was therefore decided to carry out full commissioning at the plant in Landau. The system was brought in and taken out again through a special opening in the roof of the assembly hall. Afterwards it was transported overnight to the port by means of a total of seven heavy-duty trucks.
Safeguarding the individual process parameters prior to delivery to the customer is and was paramount in this project.
