We have successfully commissioned a composite press with over 3,500 x 3,500 mm net plate dimensions. The required accuracies of the system, as well as the associated options, demanded a solid welded construction of the press frames. Therefore, these components could only be designed as a complete single-piece structure during the development phase.
This prevented installation through the standard hall entrances of the assembly halls. To test the new processes for functionality and precision before delivery, it was decided to carry out a complete commissioning at the Landau facility. Installation and removal were carried out through an opened roof hatch of the assembly hall. Subsequently, a total of seven heavy-duty transporters made the nighttime journey to the port together.
The ensuring of individual process parameters before delivery to the customer was and remains the top priority in this project.
