During hot bonding of friction discs, the friction elements made of a wide variety of materials are firmly bonded to the carrier discs or carrier rings under pressure and temperature.
On the one hand, they are calibrated to a highly precise thickness, and on the other hand, the process allows for a high-strength and reliable bond, thus ensuring functionality for the entire service life of a clutch – ideal for modern drive technologies, especially in the field of hybrid and electric vehicles, but also in the off-highway powertrain sector, where extreme forces or component dimensions come into play.
